Job Summary

Tectonic is currently seeking Construction Inspectors to perform certified coating inspections on upcoming projects nationwide! This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package and opportunities to work on challenging and exciting projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs inspection on projects for the inspection of corrosion surface preparation containment installation painting lead abatement environmental control and waste disposal;
  • Monitor contractors daily activities and uses applicable field testing and inspection procedures and equipment to perform required field testing;
  • Preparation of daily field inspection reports including communication of deficiencies observed in the field to project managers contractors and/or client representatives;
  • Implements and follows Company and project safety protocol;
  • All related duties as required to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of experience in steel painting inspection services such as bridges water tanks towers etc. with knowledge of the various types of abatement methods typically utilized;
  • Successful completion of NACE Level 2 Coating Inspection Program;
  • Must possess HS Diploma or equivalent;
  • Proven working knowledge with NYSDOT Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) standards and specifications;
  • Willing to travel to steel shops nationwide;
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • A valid clean drivers license and personal vehicle to travel to job sites.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the essential functions of this position it is frequently necessary to:
  • Assume a stationary position
  • Handle inspect and/or feel documents materials and/or equipment relevant to the job;
  • Communicate with colleagues supervisors and clients using Company email and telephone systems;
  • Move around on the job-site including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder and positioning oneself appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment usually for prolonged periods of time
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. for some types of monitoring and inspections
  • Good visual skills including focused depth perception and
  • Regular daily operations of a motor-vehicle which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.
Employees may also be required to undergo substance abuse testing in accordance with project requirements US DOT Regulations and/or Company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer as well as other related office machinery such as calculators printers and copy machines. The physical demands described above are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. PAY RANGE
Tectonics goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitably across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidates work location experience education certifications and capabilities compared to the advertised position.
Pay Range: $50.00 - $60.00 / hour
