- This position is responsible for assisting professional engineer and/or higher level technicians in the performance of construction inspection work.
- The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties many times with or without minimal supervision and also be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise.
- The incumbent will participate in appropriate DOTD structured training programs as appropriate and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks.
- Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering heavy mobile equipment operation or mobile equipment maintenance.- Job Specification

- Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
The job duties for this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with departmental policies standards specifications and project plans.
- Complete and process construction documentation such as field diaries reports and estimates.
- Enter review and maintain construction project data in departmental systems (e.g. MATT Site Manager Content Manager).
- Apply DOTD engineering policies and procedures while working in the Project Engineers office and at construction sites.
- Serve as the primary construction inspector in assigned areas of specialization or certification.
- Determine material sampling requirements and verify materials haul quantities and survey elevations and alignments.
- Complete required training and support efficient project operations including assisting other staff as needed.

Construction Inspector 1 - Starting salary is $1198.40/bi-weekly
Construction Inspector 2 - Starting salary is $1372.00/bi-weekly
Construction Inspector 3 - Starting salary is $1570.40/bi-weekly
Construction Inspector 4 - Starting salary is $1797.60/bi-weekly
Compensation: This position is eligible for premium pay for every hour worked:
Construction Inspector 1-4 - $2.00/hour
