Job Summary

The Concessions Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all concession stands during events ensuring smooth and efficient service. This position plays a key role in setting up and maintaining all concession areas supervising staff maintaining health and safety standards and supporting overall event success.
This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00 and is tip eligible.

As one of the nations premier on-campus arenas the State Farm Center hosts Fighting Illini basketball concerts and world-class entertainment. OVG elevates the fan experience through innovative menu design premium lounge service and fast fan-friendly concessions tailored to high-volume crowds.
Hospitality & Guest Experience
Through Orange & Blue Hospitality OVG emphasizes service excellence creative food and beverage concepts and operational efficiency. From specialty cocktails and Illini-branded snacks to all-inclusive club offerings OVG focuses on creating lasting connections between fans the Fighting Illini brand and the Champaign-Urbana community.

- Oversee set-up and readiness of all concession stands prior to each event.
- Assign duties to employees and volunteers; ensure staffing coverage and operational efficiency.
- Monitor food production inventory levels and cash handling procedures.
- Train new and current staff on procedures best practices and guest service standards.
- Step in to support or backfill any position as needed to maintain service and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with Premium Services operations and special event needs.
- Maintain a safe clean and harassment-free work environment; promptly report and address safety issues.
- Supervise alcohol service including ID checks and managing over-service situations.
- Support POS transactions order processing and guest interaction when needed.
- Ensure all equipment is operational and sanitation standards are met.
- Enforce company policies and procedures; model professional conduct at all times.
- Coach and counsel staff as needed; complete related HR documentation.
- Assist with inventory training sessions and other projects assigned by management.
- 1-2 years experience working in a supervisory capacity in a food & beverage environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders including co-workers customers and management which focuses on generating a positive enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented fast-paced event-driven environment.
- Food handling certificate is preferred.
- Smart serve qualification is essential.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
