Position Overview:

As our Composites Fabricator Lead Person you will lead the day-to-day operations of our Bondroom composites fabrication team working hands-on alongside the team in our clean room environment. Youll help drive the flow of work from material preparation and composite layup through bonding and assembly ensuring employees have the tools materials instructions and support needed to keep production moving safely and efficiently. As the go-to lead within the Bondroom youll assign and coordinate daily work train and develop team members monitor quality and production progress and help troubleshoot issues as they arise. Youll also work closely with Quality Engineering Planning and Manufacturing leadership to resolve production challenges communicate priorities and ensure finished components meet DGs aerospace quality and workmanship standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Bondroom composites fabrication team overseeing daily operations and associate performance.
  • Performs composite layup and cuts material for layup.
  • Maintains and prepares materials for log tickets.
  • Participates in the daily SIM Composites meeting representing the Bondroom reporting production throughput
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality Engineering Planning and other departments to resolve issues and meet production goals.
  • Assign tasks prepare workstations and ensure materials and tools are available.
  • Train mentor and motivate employees; monitor progress and support development.
  • Identify nonconforming parts and uphold all quality productivity and safety standards.
  • Assist supervisor and Manufacturing management with policy interpretation performance reviews and employee discipline.
  • Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment.
  • Maintains all tools molds fixtures and production equipment in the Composite Assembly area. Follows company workmanship and quality standards.
  • Performs floor stock inventory cycle counts
  • Support cross-training initiatives and drive continuous improvement
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
  • Follows all DG safety procedures as per company policies and per the Facility Management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous hands-on composites fabrication experience including composite layup material preparation bonding and related composite manufacturing processes.
  • Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment such as a Lead Person Team Lead Supervisor or similar role with responsibility for directing and supporting the work of others.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints drawings work instructions and other technical manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience using power tools and other hand tools molds fixtures and production equipment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality safety and workmanship standards.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily production activities assign work and effectively communicate with employees and cross-functional teams.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Ability to speak read write and understand English.
  • Ability to lift and/or push up to 50 lbs

    Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have Not Required):

    • Previous composites manufacturing experience within the aerospace aviation defense or another regulated industry.
    • Experience with riveting and drilling used in composite assemblies.
    • Experience working in a clean room or controlled manufacturing environment.
