Compliance Assistant

Schochetis seeking aCompliance Assistantto join our Compliance team atPlumley Village in Worcester Massachusetts a 430-unit family apartment community.

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative and customer service functions in accordance with Compliance Department procedures.
  • Assist with tracking and reviewing property files to meet time-sensitive occupancy and compliance requirements.
  • Assist staff with file processing in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Process income certifications and recertifications for multiple affordable housing programs and maintain accurate information in the Yardi database.
  • Assist residents with completing understanding and signing documents related to housing assistance and program requirements.
  • Collect and organize all required documentation for tenant files in accordance with HUD and federal management standards.
  • Review tenant files to ensure all required documents are present current accurate and properly organized.
  • Organize current files and purge outdated documentation in accordance with established rules and procedures.
  • Respond to tenant questions and concerns including questions regarding leases rent copies of documents and other housing-related matters.
  • Answer telephone inquiries regarding property waitlists and application procedures.
  • Listen to document and appropriately address tenant complaints including roommate and overcrowding concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by property management staff.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.
  • Professional certification in affordable housing compliance is required within a few months of beginning employment.
  • Excellent mathematical skills including the ability to calculate income and rent accurately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with residents and staff.
  • Strong attention to detail organization follow-through and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office includingWord Excel and PowerPoint.
