Description

Codman Square Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center serving a diverse community in Dorchester MA and surrounding neighborhoods. CSHC offers a full continuum of services such as primary care urgent care behavioral health care management nutrition family planning optometry dentistry laboratory pharmacy radiology and medical specialties including HIV care substance use treatment Hepatitis C OB-GYN Nephrology and Cardiology alongside an on-site STI clinic.

Position Summary:

Working together with the Codman Square Food Pantry / Community Market Coordinator the responsibilities will focus on providing food access to community residents in a dignified manner ensuring that healthy food is distributed according to GBFB and health department standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assure registration for the families that come to the Community Market
  • Maintains a clean area for food storage and distribution
  • Maintain and rotate food items to ensure compliance with food safety
  • Attend food safety training as required
  • Assist with food pick up/delivery as scheduled
  • Set up displays and stock shelves refrigerators and freezers as required
  • Monitor shopper flow to assure a safe and seamless customer experience
  • Assist with the supervision of volunteers
  • Maintain demographic intake records/database required by GBFB funders and the health department

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience working/volunteering in the community
  • Minimal knowledge of computers

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods (at least 50% of the time)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and load onto shelves
  • Visual acuity sufficient for frequent reading and computer use


Required Experience:

IC
