Job Description - Princeton Public Schools

Reports to: Community Education Director

32-40 hours per week

Start Date:08/31/26

Salary:$26.20-$29.05 per hour

Benefits: Health Dental 403b and paid leave time.


Purpose of Position:
The Community Education Program Specialist assists in the development and delivery of high-quality Community Education recreation programming for all ages; Pre-K through Adult in line with ISD #477 Princeton Community Education mission values and goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements Community Ed programming with intention creativity and responsiveness to evolving community needs
  • Supervises the day-to-day operation of the Community Ed recreation programs including communicating with instructors and participants maintaining a registration database and scheduling facilities.
  • Monitors revenue and expenses and assists with the preparation of the program budgets
  • Develops conducts and analyzes surveys related to current and potential programming to ensure continuous improvement and responsiveness
  • Recruits supports and evaluates instructors for Community Ed programs
  • Assists with the production of program catalogs including writing course descriptions taking photographs and proofing
  • Assists with program marketing including regular electronic newsletters targeted email campaigns and maintaining the Community Ed website
  • Helps create plan and execute special events designed to meet Community Ed goals
  • Participates in in-service workshop and professional development as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree
    • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of people
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Creative problem-solver with a commitment to high-quality customer service
    • Ability to work independently and manage a variety of projects simultaneously with excellent time management organization and project management skills
    • Proven attention to detail
    • Knowledge of current technologies and ability to leverage available technical resources for efficiency and effectiveness. Fluent in common programs including Microsoft Office Suite and cloud sharing systems (Google Drive and Dropbox)
    • Interest in working in a public school district environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of related work experience

Additional Information

  • Must be willing and able to work in the following conditions: busy with constant interruptions
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and/or after hours occasionally as needed
  • Must have a valid drivers license where travel among the district buildings and outside of district occurs on a regular basis
  • Ability to perform the following actions: sitting standing using hands dexterously talking hearing lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds reaching stooping bending crouching walking.
