Job Summary
- Position Description
Under the direction of the Community Center Manager the Community Center Coordinator is responsible for maximizing constituent participation within the center.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops coordinates schedules implements supervises and evaluates a variety of recreational programs activities special events and facilities.
Modifies programs based on the skills and abilities of the participants.
Maintains related records and statistics for programs and personnel.
Prepares program materials equipment first aid kits and other necessary items.
Supervises opening and closing of recreation facilities as scheduled.
Inspects facilities daily for cleanliness and safety; assists with daily/weekly cleaning.
Supervises building and participants by enforcing program and building rules regulations and procedures.
Responsible for the safety of self staff participants and volunteers.
Responsible for proper use and care of materials equipment and facilities used.
Take proper safety precautions anticipate unsafe circumstances and act accordingly to prevent accidents.
Use all required safety equipment.
Assists with hiring training scheduling evaluating and supervising staff.
Evaluates service costs and makes related recommendations.
Identifies and recommends improvements in divisional and departmental operations to ensure assigned functions are efficient and cost effective.
Required to work during business closure in order to meet operational requirements.

Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution
Certification:
Must be able to obtain Food Handlers certification within 90 days of employment.
Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid and AED certification within 90 days of employment.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be efficient and detail-oriented with a strong customer/constituent focus
Proficient knowledge of computers and related software comprised of Microsoft Suite recreational management software and office equipment
Must have the ability to take initiative and possess skills for problem solving and conflict resolution

Hours:
A regular full-time position requiring the employee to work 40 hours per week.
This may include weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:
This job operates in both a clerical office setting and outdoors in a variety of environmental and weather conditions.
This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
Noise level in the work environment is usually average.
Physical Demands:
Essential functions involve significant physical demands related to repeated lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted 100 pounds with assistance rarely; carrying tools materials and equipment over rough terrain; climbing reaching and bending.
Frequently to walk sit talk drive hear bend stoop twist and balance.
Reporting Relationships:
This position will report to the Community Center Manager or designee.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
