The communications intern will work closely with team members to write and edit a variety of materials to support internal communications and media relations. This individual will also assist with ongoing programs and special events.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a Partner of Choice for the Nebraska University System. Our Interns work a hybrid schedule and spend some days working on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village. Therefore you will need to live within commuting distance from Wednesday May 26 Friday July 30 2027.

What youll do:

• Write and edit a variety of communication pieces including intranet and newsroom content press releases social media posts posters scripts brochures and other company collateral

• Work closely with communications staff to coordinate programs and projects

• Assist with special event planning and execution

• Must meet or exceed department attendance and timeliness requirements

• Must work well in a team environment and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with others

To be considered for this position you must have:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in Journalism English Advertising Communications Public Relations Marketing or Business

• Strong organizational skills with consistent attention to details and deadlines

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)

• Strong collaboration and communication (written and verbal) skills

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of AP Style
