We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Utility to support the day-to-day operations of our commissary kitchen. This role plays a key part in food preparation sanitation inventory management and ensuring adherence to Kids & Company standards and food safety regulations.

What Youll Do:
Every day is a chance to make an impact. You will:
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with assigned food preparation tasks
- Assist with cutting fruits and vegetables and preparing hot lunches and daily meals
- Support preparation of breads breadsticks garlic bread biscuits croissants and other menu items
- Help with portioning packaging and assembling meal components
- Prepare and pack cold bags for daily food distribution
- Assist with food preparation for field trips school-age programs and special events
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with assigned food preparation tasks
- Support dishwashing operations including cleaning cookware utensils trays and equipment
- Follow proper washing rinsing and sanitizing procedures for all dishware
- Receive unpack and organize food and supply deliveries
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of products
- Maintain inventory using FIFO (First In First Out) rotation practices
- Maintain daily logs for food temperatures sanitizer levels and refrigeration/freezer units
- Ensure safe food storage handling and disposal practices
- Adhere to all health hygiene and food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and storage areas
- Clean and sanitize appliances counters cupboards and drawers
- Sweep mop and sanitize floors daily
- Remove garbage and recycle and maintain a safe working environment
- Perform general kitchen utility tasks as required
- Support overall kitchen operations as needed
- Complete other duties as assigned
Who You Are
- High School diploma/GED equivalency ()
- 2-3 years kitchen related experience ()
- Valid drivers license and a clean drivers abstract ()
- Current ServSafe Certification. (Inspire will certify any cooks that do not hold a valid ServSafe certification)
- Clear criminal background check and up-to-date health assessments.
- Ability to push pull and lift to 45 pounds
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively.
