Job Summary
Position Title
Commercial Tire Service Technician
Position Summary
The Commercial Tire Service Technician is responsible for the inspection repair replacement mounting balancing and servicing of commercial truck industrial agricultural and off-the-road tires. This position requires safe operation of service vehicles and equipment while delivering exceptional customer service both in-shop and on roadside service calls.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tire mounting dismounting balancing rotating and repairs on commercial vehicles and equipment
- Conduct roadside service calls in a safe professional and timely manner
- Inspect tires wheels and related components for wear damage and proper inflation
- Operate service trucks and equipment safely and in compliance with company and DOT regulations
- Complete work orders service documentation and customer signatures accurately
- Maintain clean and organized work areas service trucks and equipment
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers managers and customers regarding service needs and job status
- Assist with inventory control and proper handling of tires and materials
- Participate in after-hours emergency roadside service rotation as required
- Promote a positive company image through professionalism and customer service
Requirements
Qualifications
- Previous tire service or mechanical experience preferred but willing to train motivated candidates
- Valid drivers license required; commercial drivers license (CDL) is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and complete work orders and service paperwork accurately
- Strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift carry push and pull heavy tires and equipment regularly
- Ability to stand bend kneel and work in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to safely operate jacks air tools compressors and heavy equipment
- Must be able to respond to roadside service calls at various times including nights and weekends if required
