Pay: $180000.00 - $225000.00 per year

Location: This is a full-time in-person role based in our New York City office a dynamic high-energy environment at the center of one of the worlds premier legal markets. Active bar admission in both New York and New Jersey is required.

Note: This role requires 5 years of substantive commercial litigation experience in a sophisticated law firm environment. Active NY and NJ bar admission is required candidates without both will not be considered. Candidates without a strong commercial litigation background will not be considered.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Independently manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft and prepare pleadings motions briefs Orders to Show Cause and other essential litigation documents
• Represent clients in depositions and court proceedings including hearings trials arbitrations and appeals
• Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy and decision-making
• Maintain effective professional communication with courts clients and opposing counsel throughout all stages of litigation
• Stay current with legal developments industry trends and best practices in commercial litigation
• Draft articles for publication and contribute to firm marketing and practice development efforts
• Bring a collaborative no-nonsense lets-get-it-done attitude to the team every day

QUALIFICATIONS

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
• Active bar admission in both New York and New Jersey required
• 5 years of commercial litigation experience in a sophisticated legal environment
• Strong knowledge of New Yorks CPLR New Jerseys Rules of Court and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
• Excellent drafting research analytical and critical-thinking skills
• Strong commercial and business acumen able to provide practical innovative legal solutions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management software
• Knowledge of e-discovery and electronic documentation management
• Self-motivated collaborative and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
