Commercial Installer II

Responsible for the installation maintenance and repair of commercial and industrial door systems including sectional rolling steel high-speed fired-rated and speciality role supports a variety of environments including commercial properties warehouses manufacturing facilities and other industrial settings. Work is frequently performed at active job sites during normal business operations.

Job Duties (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

• Install service and repair a broad range of commercial and industrial door systems operators and related equipment including sectional rolling steel fire-rated high-speed dock equipment and specialty doors.
• Perform scheduled service calls and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety of door systems.
• Review and interpret work orders blueprints and technical specifications to determine appropriate installation procedures.
• Safely operate hand tools power tools lift equipment and other machinery required for installation and service work.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and all applicable job site safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate professionally with site supervisors contractors and customers to coordinate access timelines and work expectations.
• Accurately complete required documentation including time records and inspection checklists.
• Load transport and unload materials tools and equipment as necessary to support job site operations.
• Responsible for training Installer Helpers as assigned.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor as determined from timeto time at their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

Five (5) years of Commercial Door industry experience required.

Education

A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.

Required Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills while interfacing with all levels of staff and customers.
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such safety rules operating and maintenance instructions blueprints and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills to calculate proportions percentages area circumference and volume.
• Ability to read a tape measure and convert nominal measurements
• Willingness to learn products and processes.

Work Conditions

• Both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Regularly exposed to varying weather conditions including heat cold rain and snow.
• Frequent standing climbing ladders bending lifting and carrying heavy materials (often 5075 lbs. or more).
• Work involves using hand and power tools and working at different heights may be required.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves hard hats eye protection and steel-toe boots etc. must be worn on all job sites.
• Standard hours are Monday through Friday with occasional early morning evening or weekend work depending on customer scheduling and emergency service calls.
• Travel to various job locations is required in a company vehicle. Must have a valid Drivers License.
• Depending on location may be required to travel and stay overnight to complete a project

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in outside weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Repetitive standing lifting reaching bending climbing & kneeling
• Working on ladders at varying heights.
• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements (i.e. background drug etc.)
