Chesapeake Systems is expanding and looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Field Technician to join our growing team!

The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing maintaining and repairing commercial and industrial heating ventilation and air conditioning systems. This role ensures client systems operate efficiently reliably and in compliance with safety and performance standards while delivering professional customer-focused service.

Pay: up to $35/hr. depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities

Diagnose troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R systems including chillers rooftop units cooling towers boilers pumps and related controls.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues and extend equipment life.
Conduct system start-ups commissioning and performance testing to ensure proper operation.
Install replacement parts motors compressors belts filters and other components as required.
Utilize building automation and control systems to monitor adjust and optimize system performance.
Respond promptly to emergency service calls; provide accurate assessments and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain detailed service records including work performed parts used and system performance.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings recommendations and options for repairs or upgrades.
Collaborate with project managers coordinators and fellow technicians to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
Uphold all company safety policies procedures and OSHA standards during field work.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications

3 years of hands-on HVAC service experience (commercial/industrial preferred).
Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems controls and equipment troubleshooting.
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
Journeyman or close to completion required.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Ability to read and interpret schematics blueprints and technical manuals.
Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Strong written and verbal communication; able to interact effectively with clients and coworkers.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC trade school preferred.
