Additional Information:This position will remain open until filled. Work Hours:Hours will vary based on department need. Expected shifts are 8am -12pm 1pm - 5 pm or 6pm - 10 pm.

General Summary:CDL instructors will instruct students in all phases oftruck driving and maintenance with emphasis on safe practices to prepare themto take the PA Class A pre-trip skills and driving tests. Instructors will becurrent with federal laws. Must possess valid current CDL Class A license withClass B preferred.

Requirements:

• Availableto teach day and/or evening classes and some weekends.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years verifiable drivingexperience and possess a good driving record.
• Must have knowledge of FMCSA laws andregulations.
• Expected to comply with Federal and CCAC regulations as it appliesto workplace violence harassment and zero drug/alcohol tolerance.
• Must be ableto communicate effectively.
• Clearances & Checks: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances (3) will berequired: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance Pennsylvania State PoliceCriminal Records Check and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) CriminalBackground Check.
• Subject to a DMV/MVRcheck yearly and cannot have an alcohol or other related offense within thelast 5 years.
• Must be able to pass DOT drug test.

Duties:

1. Instruct students on safe and proper pre-trip procedures.
2. Teach students safe and proper backing parking and docking procedures.
3. Instruct students on safe and proper on road driving.
4. Assist the CDL Director in scheduling students for the most efficient use of instructor time and available equipment.
5. Complete and maintain student attendance records and progress reports with daily or weekly reports to the CDL Director as needed.
6. Assist in classroom teaching as needed.
7. Keep trucks fueled and maintain fuel logs with weekly reports to Director.
8. Work with the truck leasing company to complete all preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks.
9. Perform other duties as assigned or as required.
