Job Summary
Sanderson Ford is hiring a Commercial Diesel Service Technician for our service operation. This role is built for a technician who knows heavy diesel thoroughly and wants to work across Fords full commercial lineup: Transit chassis Class 47 diesel-powered vehicles and everything in between. Additional technician employment entrybonuses potentially available to the right candidate!
This is not a general service position. Youll handle complex diagnostics and repairs on commercial diesel units alongside a team that takes the craft seriously at a dealership that has been part of this community for decades.

What Youll Do
- Diagnose and repair diesel and gas-powered commercial vehicles using Ford diagnostic systems (IDS FDRS)
- Review work orders and customer concerns to build accurate repair plans before starting work
- Inspect and test engines drivetrains braking systems suspension cooling and electrical components across all vehicle classes
- Follow OEM guidelines and dealership protocols for every repair
- Road-test vehicles after completion to verify work and confirm safety standards
- Process warranty parts and documentation to Ford Motor Company requirements
- Keep up with Ford TSBs OEM bulletins and required manufacturer training
- Document labor times parts usage and diagnostic findings accurately
- Maintain a clean organized workspace and return customer vehicles in the same condition
What You Bring
- Diesel technician experience required; any OEM background considered Ford diesel experience preferred
- 2 years on commercial or fleet vehicles
- Ford Certification strongly preferred
- ASE Certification preferred
- CDL preferred
- Proficiency with Ford diagnostic tools (IDS FDRS)
- Gas engine and heavy-line repair experience across multiple platforms
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Personal tools appropriate for the position
- Ability to pass a drug screen and work at production pace in a high-volume environment
