Color Guard LHS

Color Guard Director is done for the purpose/s of creating a Color Guard team that performs at competitions; creating choreography for the performances; instructing students in fundamentals and advanced flag technique; supervising students at any Color Guard event; and planning for the program. Color Guard Coach is a member of the Marching Band Staff and will enjoy plenty of creative freedom they will be expected to contribute/conform to the theme of the marching show as well as the Directors overall vision for the band program.

Qualifications for the position:
- Color Guard experience is necessary for consideration

- Dance experience is preferred

Season:
Marching season typically runs from mid/late July through October with the potential of November if football has a successful post-season.

Commitments:
The Coachs commitments will include:

1. Color Guard Pre-Camp

1. All of band camp.

1. All home games.

1. 3 marching festivals one of which is an overnight trip.
   
   5. 3 parades which currently include: Perrytons Wheatheart of the Nation Parade in early August Fall Homecoming and Pancake Day in February. There may be more added to the schedule at the directors discretion.
   
   6. Attend at least one morning rehearsal per week and to schedule an outside of class weekly rehearsal if necessary. The color guard will receive at least two hours of specialized instruction per week whether during regular class time or outside of class.
