The Department of Neurology at Thomas Jefferson University / Jefferson Health is seeking a Cognitive Neurologist to join its established Cognitive Disorders program in Center City Philadelphia.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with cognitive impairment memory disorders dementia and neurodegenerative diseases. This position offers the opportunity to participate in clinical care medical education research and multidisciplinary program development within Jeffersons academic neuroscience environment.
The primary practice location is 901 Walnut Street in Philadelphia with access to Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience and the broader Jefferson neuroscience network.

Job Description

• Evaluate and manage patients with cognitive impairment memory disorders and neurodegenerative conditions
• Diagnose and treat patients with Alzheimers disease mild cognitive impairment Lewy body dementia frontotemporal dementia and related disorders
• Provide longitudinal management and counseling for patients and families
• Collaborate with neuropsychology neuroradiology psychiatry geriatrics primary care and other specialists as appropriate
• Participate in multidisciplinary cognitive disorders care
• Participate in clinical research and clinical trials as applicable
• Teach medical students residents fellows and other learners
• Participate in departmental conferences and educational activities
• Contribute to the continued development of Jeffersons Cognitive Disorders program
• Support quality improvement and other departmental initiatives

Qualifications Required

• MD DO or equivalent medical degree
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology residency or equivalent training
• Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
• Demonstrated clinical interest in cognitive neurology memory disorders dementia or neurodegenerative disease

Preferred

• Fellowship training in Cognitive Neurology Behavioral Neurology Geriatric Neurology or a related subspecialty
• Experience caring for patients with Alzheimers disease and other dementias
• Interest or experience in clinical research or clinical trials
• Interest in medical education

Practice Environment

The physician will join the Department of Neurology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and work within Jeffersons multidisciplinary neuroscience environment.

The department provides subspecialty expertise across cognitive disorders movement disorders epilepsy headache vascular neurology neurocritical care neuromuscular disorders neuro-oncology and other areas of neurology.
