Schedule: Sun Mon Wed and Thurs including Holidays

Hours: 4am until complete. Start and end times may vary. Tues work may be required.

Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.

Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred. Applicant must have at least six consecutive months of work experience with the same employer and no additional gaps in employment greater than six months with the last 36 months. If applicant was laid-off providing eldercare or childcare the six month gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history criteria will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.

Starting wage - $21.20 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings nights and weekends.

Position Summary:

  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of workers who perform the following duties: Mixes vaccines loads vaccine in robots prepares maintains and sanitizes equipment process chicks and clean/sanitizes and monitor for repair of hatchery equipment. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises employees on the processing crew and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies. (25%)
  • Planning assigning and directing work. (25%)
  • Making sure each customer is getting the correct amount of chicks and correct services. (30%)
  • Entering daily information into the computer. (5%)
  • Addresses complaint and resolves small problems. (5%)
  • Other duties responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as Packs eggs when needed assisting in training new team members ensuring all team members are following proper biosecurity animal welfare and safety procedures maintaining a clean and organized work area. (10%)
  • Lead positions must currently have and consistently maintain 4 attendance points or less.

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare/Safety Requirements:

  • The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens ducks birds etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift and stack chick boxes (wheeled dolly) weighing up to 12 pounds and will occasionally be required to push or pull stacks of boxes up to 125 pounds. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and walk majority of shift (concrete floor); sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Environment: Required to work on wet slippery surfaces and also work in hot dry dusty wet icy snowy and cold environments.
  • Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles face shield chemical gloves waterproof apron and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as required. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
  • Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectants such as Synergize Lysol bleach etc.
  • Safety: TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication Respiratory Protection LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. TM is expected to identify address and mitigate safety related risks.
