Coating Technician

-High School Diploma or equivalent
-Individual must be knowledgeable of techniques and equipment used in exposure testing and corrosion measurement/mitigation
-Individual must have a minimum of 3 years hands on experience with coating applications and demonstrated proficiency to perform coating removal pretreatment and coating applications
-Must have working knowledge of various coating materials for aerospace applications
-Proficiency with Microsoft office including Excel and Word programs
-Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

-Experience with military aerospace coating application on aircraft (de-painting process pretreatment organic coating application) qualitative interpretation of coating performance as per ASTM standard methods
-Working knowledge of various coatings test methods techniques and equipment used to evaluate coatings and corrosion exposures (adhesion color gloss evaluation for corrosion per military requirements)
-Experience with composite and metallic aircraft structure surface preparation and coating application
-Experience with ISO 17025 laboratory requirements
