CNC Set-Up Technician

Volt is immediately hiring for a CNC Machine Set-Up Technician in Oxnard CA.

As a CNC Machine Set-Up Technician you will:

Job Description and Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Assist the Machine Shop Manager and CNC Programmers in setting up and running production jobs.
• Set up and operate sophisticated HAAS and Matsuura machining centers including vertical and horizontal mills with 5-axis and pallet-changing capabilities.
• Machine castings and hog-outs according to engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Work closely with the Quality Control department to ensure parts meet customer requirements and specifications.
• Interpret blueprints engineering drawings and GD&T callouts.
• Perform setup changes tooling adjustments and machine troubleshooting to maximize production efficiency.
• Use precision measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions and quality.
• Communicate effectively with engineering manufacturing supervisory and quality personnel regarding technical and production matters.
• Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
• The ability to program CNC machines design fixtures and create tooling solutions is highly preferred.

This is a full-time temp-to-perm opportunity.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum three years of CNC setup experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with vertical and horizontal machining centers.
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers.
• Understanding of GD&T callouts and requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to quality safety and continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience programming HAAS CNC machines.
• Experience using CAM software.
• Experience designing and building machining fixtures.
• Experience operating CNC lathes.
• Experience working in an AS9100 manufacturing environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday-Day Shift Overtime as required

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors including the candidates education work experience work location specific job duties certifications etc.
