Job Summary

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer / Machinist with strong CAM programming ability and deep hands-on machining experience in a precision CNC job shop environment. This role requires an experienced professional who can independently program set up and run complex tight-tolerance parts in a low-volume high-mix production setting.

Candidates must have 5 years of recent hands-on job shop machining experience and be comfortable working with frequent setup changes custom parts and multiple customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints work orders and engineering specifications; interpret GD&T and machining requirements
  • Develop CNC programs using CAM software (any platform) and perform program proofing and optimization
  • Set up CNC mills including tooling offsets chucks fixtures and workholding solutions
  • Design and fabricate fixturing for custom and complex parts
  • Perform first-piece inspection and verify dimensions using precision measuring tools
  • Troubleshoot machining issues adjust programs and optimize cutting conditions
  • Maintain tight tolerances across drilling milling turning grooving and threading operations
  • Perform preventive maintenance and ensure safe machine operation
  • Document production activity quality sign-offs and process changes

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a precision job shop
  • Strong experience in CAM programming and CNC program development (any CAM platform)
  • Ability to independently set up program troubleshoot and run CNC mills
  • Expert-level blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
  • Strong experience with low-volume high-mix custom part production
  • Proven ability to build fixtures and handle frequent setup changes
  • Skilled in G-code understanding offsets and on-machine edits
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances
