CNC Mill Machinist (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Houston TX 77081
Pay: $28-$31/ hour DOE
Shift: 5am-1:30pm
Start: ASAP

POSITION SUMMARY:
The CNC Mill Machinist is responsible for setting up machining and producing complex production parts on a CNC mill to high tolerance design specifications in an accurate timely and cost-effective manner.

POSITION KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operates all equipment and tools with the utmost attention to safety and professionalism.
  • Studies blueprints drawings schematics engineering information or sample parts to determine product dimensions and tolerances as well as the best method and sequence of operations needed to fabricate parts.
  • Independently sets up and operates CNC mills.
  • Select appropriate tools machines and materials to be used for machining work.
  • Capable of performing quality control functions on the CNC mill (offset adjustment).
  • Aligns/ secures holding fixtures cutting tools attachments and materials onto machines
  • Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Measures examines and tests completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Oversees that all work is performed to the highest quality and safety standards in the machining cell.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods equipment performance and quality of product

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong analytical and communication skills are a must
  • Ability to multitask prioritize and troubleshoot issues
  • Able to read write and communicate fluently in English
  • Must know how to use precision measuring tools (micrometers and calipers)
  • Knowledge of Fanuc controls
  • Demonstrated ability to set up a machine and run the job with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of G D & T.
  • Ability to change and adapt work behaviors based on a constantly changing production schedule
  • Must be dependable and detailed oriented
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 years of machining experience with a CNC mill

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Exerts up to 75 pounds of force occasionally up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
