Job Summary
CNC Mill Machinist (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Houston TX 77081
Pay: $28-$31/ hour DOE
Shift: 5am-1:30pm
Start: ASAP
POSITION SUMMARY:
The CNC Mill Machinist is responsible for setting up machining and producing complex production parts on a CNC mill to high tolerance design specifications in an accurate timely and cost-effective manner.
POSITION KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates all equipment and tools with the utmost attention to safety and professionalism.
- Studies blueprints drawings schematics engineering information or sample parts to determine product dimensions and tolerances as well as the best method and sequence of operations needed to fabricate parts.
- Independently sets up and operates CNC mills.
- Select appropriate tools machines and materials to be used for machining work.
- Capable of performing quality control functions on the CNC mill (offset adjustment).
- Aligns/ secures holding fixtures cutting tools attachments and materials onto machines
- Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
- Measures examines and tests completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Oversees that all work is performed to the highest quality and safety standards in the machining cell.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods equipment performance and quality of product
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong analytical and communication skills are a must
- Ability to multitask prioritize and troubleshoot issues
- Able to read write and communicate fluently in English
- Must know how to use precision measuring tools (micrometers and calipers)
- Knowledge of Fanuc controls
- Demonstrated ability to set up a machine and run the job with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of G D & T.
- Ability to change and adapt work behaviors based on a constantly changing production schedule
- Must be dependable and detailed oriented
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: - 5 years of machining experience with a CNC mill
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Exerts up to 75 pounds of force occasionally up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
