The CNC Mechanical Technician is responsible for the repair maintenance troubleshooting and optimization of the mechanical pneumatic hydraulic and structural systems of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools. This role ensures the safe reliable and efficient operation of CNC equipment to minimize downtime and support production goals.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive predictive and corrective maintenance on CNC machine tools including 3-axis and 5-axis mills CNC lathes routers and other precision machining equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical failures involving ball screws linear rails guideways bearings spindles gearboxes couplings drive mechanisms and other machine components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems including pumps valves actuators regulators cylinders manifolds and fluid delivery systems.
  • Inspect align level and adjust machine components to maintain proper machine accuracy and performance.
  • Perform machine tear-downs rebuilds retrofits and component replacements as required.
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints assembly drawings technical manuals and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and document maintenance activities findings and repair recommendations.
  • Collaborate with production engineering and maintenance personnel to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations company procedures and industry standards.
  • Maintain tools equipment spare parts inventory and a clean work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical trade certification in Mechatronics Industrial Maintenance Machine Tool Technology or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools and industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems hydraulics pneumatics bearings drive systems and machine tool components.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints assembly drawings and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Valid Drivers License

              Preferred Skills:

              • Experience with CNC machine rebuilds precision alignments and spindle replacement procedures.
              • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and predictive maintenance techniques.
              • Familiarity with machine tool manufacturers and industrial production environments.
              • Strong commitment to safety quality and equipment reliability.

Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer site regulatory medical and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.
