The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up operating troubleshooting and optimizing CNC machining equipment (specifically Tsugami Swiss Lathes with Fanuc controllers) to produce high-quality components that meet customer and engineering specifications. Amphenol Industrial Operations consistently meets the highest global standards of quality product performance design capabilities and regionalized technical and sales Industrial Operations proudly operates as a business unit of Amphenol Corporation (NYSE: APH) a global leader in the electronics revolution headquartered in Wallingford up and operate CNC machining centers lathes (Tsugami Swiss Lathe) and related engineering drawings blueprints specifications and work tool changes fixture setup offset adjustments and program edits as dimensions using precision measuring equipment including micrometers calipers indicators and machine performance and identify opportunities to improve cycle times quality and machining issues and collaborate with Engineering Maintenance and Quality teams to resolve first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure compliance with new product introductions process development and production ramp-up accurate production and quality all safety requirements operating procedures and company in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement with training less experienced machinists and machine operators as - Education/Experience:RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.3 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing setting up and operating CNC mills and/or to read and interpret blueprints and technical using precision measuring mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting to work independently and in a team degree trade school certification or Machining Technology editing CNC programs (G-code and M-code).Experience with tooling selection and fixture of Fanuc Mazak Haas or similar CNC control in high-volume manufacturing or metal forming Manufacturing or continuous improvement leadership presence with the ability to develop supervisors leads and to manage competing priorities across multiple departments and understanding of manufacturing KPIs including output efficiency downtime scrap rework schedule attainment and labor to lead through change as the facility scales to a three-shift communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally with Operations Quality Engineering Maintenance Supply Chain WHS and floor presence and ability to identify issues quickly in a production to drive accountability while maintaining a collaborative and respectful work analytical skills with the ability to gather interpret and act on production of safety practices 5S standard work and continuous improvement to interpret production schedules work instructions drawings specifications and process Requirements:The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
