What You Will Do

JohnsonControlsis seeking to fill the positionCNC Machinist based in one of our advanced R&D facilitieslocatedin Cranston RI.

TheCNC Machinistwill supportR&D engineering activities byproducingfixturing prototypes and small production runs. You will work closely with engineers toalign ondesign intentmachinability andcritical characteristics.

How You Will Do It

• Set up program and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components for R&D projects.

• Interpret engineering drawings GD&T requirements and 3D models to determine machining strategies.

• Perform manual machining operations (lathe mill surface grinder) when required for secondary operations orbasic low volumetasks.

• Inspect parts using calipers micrometers height gauges and other precision measurement tools to verify conformance to specifications.

• Maintain equipment tooling and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operation.

What We Look For

• Associates degree technical certificate or equivalent experience in machining manufacturing technology or a related field.

• Hands-on experienceprogramming andoperating CNC mills and/or lathes in a prototype or production environment.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings GD&T and technical documentation.

• Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.

• US Citizen and/or permanent resident.

Preferred

• Experience working withHaas and Traklathes/mills.

• Experience usingSolidCAM.

• Experience within the fire protection industry.

COMPENSATIONRANGE: $30/hr- $48/hr(Compensationto be determined by the education experienceknowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity and alignment with marketdata.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. Thepostedrange reflects the target compensation for this role.
