CNC Machinist (5-Axis Experience Required)

JOB TITLE: CNC Machinist

Summary:

• Operates 5-axis and 3-axis CNC machines CNC lathes waterjet equipment and small manual lathes and milling machines.

• Determines necessary fixtures attachments and tools based on job specifications and mounts them before cutting.

• Performs programming for 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines.

• Reads and interprets mechanical drawings to understand specifications and desired outcomes.

• Monitors machine run times throughout each operation cycle.

• Adjusts machine speed tooling and cutting techniques to ensure precision and accuracy.

• Oversees cutting processes makes adjustments and resolves issues to prevent errors.

• Monitors machine temperatures and ensures proper warm-up cool-down and coolant maintenance.

• Reviews and inputs cutting plans making corrections as necessary.

• Performs routine maintenance including cleaning lubrication and tool replacement.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum two years of CNC machine operation experience.

• 5-axis CNC machine experience required.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.

• Proficiency in CNC programming and software interpretation.

• Ability to perform required programming for 3-axis and 5-axis machines.

• Experience with machine setup tooling alignment and operational processes.

• Familiarity with waterjet equipment and manual lathes and milling machines.

• Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues.
