Position Overview

Allen Control Systems is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to support prototyping manufacturing and assembly. The ideal candidate is technically proficient safety-conscious and eager to contribute to innovative production processes in a fast-paced environment.

What Youll Do:

  • Set up and operate CNC mills lathes and other multi-axis machines to manufacture complex parts according to engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Program CNC machines using G-code CAM software (e.g. Mastercam Fusion 360) or manual programming for prototypes and production runs.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure parts meet precise tolerances.
  • Perform routine maintenance tool changes and troubleshooting on machines to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g. calipers micrometers CMMs) and document quality results for compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineers programmers and quality teams to refine processes reduce waste and improve cycle times.
  • Adhere to safety protocols including proper use of PPE and maintain a clean organized workspace in line with lean manufacturing principles.

What Youll Need:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a CNC machining apprenticeship or vocational program preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of CNC mill and lathe programming experience
  • Proficiency in CNC programming setup and operation of mills and lathes.
  • Proficiency with inspection tools and reading technical documents.
  • Proficiency in CAM programming and operation as well as reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and GD&T standards.
  • Proficient with basic shop tools and machines (manual mill engine lathe drill press bandsaw belt sanders hand tools etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
