Amentum is seeking a CNC Machine Repair Technician II to join our 2nd shift team in Lafayette this role you will apply your intermediate-level expertise to maintain troubleshoot and repair facility machine tool equipment in an industrial environment. Shift: 2nd Shift Hours: 1:00 PM 9:30 PM (hours may vary based on business needs)
Key Responsibilities:
Perform troubleshooting preventive maintenance and repairs on CNC machine tools and industrial electrical systems.
Identify and address safety risks and conduct independent equipment evaluations to prevent failures.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols including lockout/tag-out procedures and proper PPE usage.
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to resolve equipment issues effectively.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical mechanical process and product-related issues.
Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and document all work performed.
Provide clear feedback to customers on work orders while maintaining compliance with codes and industry standards.
Suggest improvements to maintenance methods and identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance.
Operate diagnostic tools hand tools computers and test hardware to complete maintenance tasks.
Exhibit flexibility to manage daily priorities and adjust work schedules as needed.
Perform general maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
2 years of experience maintaining buildings facilities or equipment in a commercial/industrial environment OR a combination of relevant education and experience.
Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet using scissor lifts or aerial lifts.
Valid drivers license.
Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
U.S. Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree in industrial electrical or a related field.
Experience working safely with 480V 3-phase circuits.
Expertise troubleshooting and repairing electric motors motor controls and electrical systems.
Familiarity with PC-based work order systems for managing maintenance tasks and reporting.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to obtain a security access badge at the clients location.
Availability to work overtime weekends holidays and alternative shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Frequently climb ladders kneel bend squat stretch and walk throughout the facility during shifts.
Perform repetitive wrist movements and differentiate wire colors.
Interact professionally with clients even in high-stress situations.
Note: Tasks require wearing steel-toe safety shoes safety glasses gloves hard hats and other PPE.
