CNC Machine Repair Technician

Position Summary:

The CNC Machine Repair Technician is responsible for the installation maintenance troubleshooting repair and optimization of CNC machine tools and related manufacturing equipment. This role ensures equipment reliability minimizes downtime and supports safe and efficient production operations. The technician works closely with manufacturing engineering and maintenance teams to diagnose mechanical electrical hydraulic pneumatic and control system issues.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair CNC machine malfunctions including mechanical electrical hydraulic pneumatic and control system issues.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on CNC lathes mills grinders and related manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot CNC controls servo drives motors sensors and machine automation systems.
• Interpret electrical schematics mechanical drawings and technical manuals to identify and resolve equipment problems.
• Install align calibrate and test all machinery/equipment to meet manufacturers specifications.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
• Inspect machine components and replace worn or defective parts.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records repair logs and equipment documentation.
• Collaborate with operators engineers and supervisors to improve machine performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards lockout/tagout procedures and company policies.
• Recommend equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in training machine operators on proper equipment care and basic troubleshooting procedures.
• Collaborate with maintenance and purchasing teams to identify replacement part requirements provide detailed technical information and recommend components necessary to support efficient CNC machine repairs.

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical degree certificate or equivalent experience in Industrial Maintenance Mechatronics Electrical Technology or a related field.
• 3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC machine tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and machine drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and supporting Okuma Fanuc and other major CNC machine control systems.
• PLC troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of industrial automation and robotics.
• OSHA safety training or equivalent certifications.
• CNC programming knowledge.

Working Conditions:

• Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
• Constant exposure to moderate noise
• Working conditions may include small spaces dust fumes odors hot / cold temperatures inside / outside noise vibration standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to work any shift including weekends and holidays if scheduled.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand walk bend and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to work around moving machinery and manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to work occasional overtime and respond to emergency maintenance needs when required.
