What Youll Learn & Do

As a CNC Tool Grinder Apprentice you will receive comprehensive training to:

• Learn the complete CNC tool grinding process from reviewing work assignments to producing finished tools.
• Set up and operate advanced multi-axis CNC tool grinding machines.
• Select the appropriate grinding wheels and tooling for each job.
• Enter tool specifications and machine parameters into CNC controls.
• Perform first-piece inspections and make machine adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Read blueprints work instructions and technical drawings.
• Use precision measuring and testing equipment to verify product quality.
• Follow established safety and quality procedures while developing your machining skills.

Qualifications

Were looking for candidates who have:

• Strong math and problem-solving skills including basic trigonometry for angle calculations.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn CNC machine controls.
• The ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience using or a willingness to learn precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• A strong work ethic attention to detail and a desire to learn a skilled trade.
• The flexibility to train on 1st shift and transition to 2nd or 3rd shift after training.
