POSITION:

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT(CNA)FULLTIMEINSTRUCTOR

LOCATION:

All Campuses

DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision prepares lesson plans and teaches classroom credit courses in the School ofAllied Health.To meet the needs of our students the instructor willbe requiredto teach courses during the day evening and weekend hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Instruction will include both lecture and laboratory activities and may involve Internet courses.

  • Perform student evaluations and use continuous quality improvement techniques todeterminethe effectiveness of instruction and student achievement.

  • Maintainaccuratestudent records to create reports as requested by the Division Chair Dean and the organization.

  • Prepare and update course syllabi for each course taught.

  • Advise and motivate students on program expectations and career choices.

Mustpossessthe ability to teach all phases of the Certified Nursing Assistant curriculum. The successful candidate will report to the Dean ofAllied Health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED is required.The following current and valid credentials in good standing areand must bemaintainedduring employment:

Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse (licensed in Georgia)

Certified Train the Trainer (or must complete within45 daysof hire)

American Heart CPR Instructor

All credentials must be provided for copying at the time of interview.

The candidate mustpossessa comprehensive knowledge of the Certified Nurses Assistantprofessionincluding the relationship to other professions in the medical field.

Three or more years within the lastfive offull-time in-field work experience asaLPN or RN.Experience must include the competenciesskillsand knowledge levels the faculty will be expected to teach.

Mustdemonstrateexcellent written and oral communications and people skills. A flexible work schedule is necessary as classes may be taught duringday evening and Saturday periods.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to minimum qualificationsAssociatesdegree or higher from a national or regionally accredited college or universitydegree.

The following current and valid credentials in good standing areand must bemaintainedduring employment:

Five or more years within the lastseven offull-time in-field work experience asa RN.Experience must include the competenciesskillsand knowledge levels the faculty will be expected to teach.

Experience in teaching/advising/mentoring college-level students with broad diverse backgrounds is desired.Knowledge of Blackboard (Learning Management System) is desirable.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The salary range for this position$55000-$60000 andisdeterminedby relevant education and experience. This is a full-time position with paid state holidays;accruedannual and sick leave; and the State of Georgia Health and Flexible Benefits Program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned
