Job Summary

Job Title:Certified Nursing Assistant Emergency Department (Float Pool)
Location:Syracuse NY
Type:Contract / Travel Opportunity
Shift & Schedule:Night Shift 6 x 12-Hour Shifts Every Two Weeks Every Other Weekend Required

Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Emergency Department Float Pool for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing toileting feeding grooming and mobility assistance
  • Obtain and record vital signs accurately and report changes in patient condition
  • Serve as a safety companion/sitter for patients requiring continuous observation
  • Support nurses and healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient information effectively
  • Respond appropriately to changing patient needs and emergency situations
  • Promote patient comfort dignity and safety at all times
  • Follow infection control patient safety and hospital policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe working environment

Requirements:

  • Current New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Minimum one (1) year of patient care experience required
  • Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Hospital required
  • Strong communication teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience providing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) preferred
  • Experience serving as a safety companion/sitter for high-risk patients highly preferred
  • Emergency Department or acute care experience preferred
  • Experience caring for diverse patient populations preferred
  • Strong observation documentation and patient advocacy skills
