Pay Range

$18.00 $26.00 per hour

The compensation range listed above represents the good-faith range Cary Medical Center anticipates relying upon when making an offer for this position. Starting pay is determined based on factors including but not limited to experience education certifications internal equity and market conditions.


Job Summary:


Cary Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Acute Care Unit.

In this role youll manage incoming information via telephone call bell and direct conversation ensuring communication flows smoothly and patients receive timely attention. Youll also assist with up-staffing and down-staffing for the current and incoming shifts in collaboration with the Charge Nurse Supervisor and Nurse Manager and perform CNA functions as needed.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Promotes patient safety and abides by the patient fall risk program and completes fall risk rounding at least twice per shift.
  • Obtains and documents vital signs and reports abnormal findings to patients nurse.
  • Performs daily weights and reports abnormal findings to patients nurse.
  • Appropriately documents ADLs ambulation intake and output vital signs weights safety rounding and any other patient care activities performed throughout shift.
  • Ensures that patients have fresh water while appropriately observing patients with NPO status or fluid restrictions.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living along with providing them with supplies.
  • Assists in ambulating patient according to physician order.
  • Has ability to sit 1: 1 with patients requiring such supervision.
  • Ensures that patients rooms have an updated whiteboard are tidy and free of clutter.
  • Appropriately sets up a patient room for admission. Changes linens on beds daily and when soiled.
  • Removes all linens from patient rooms after discharge and before housekeeping begins the terminal cleaning of the room.
  • Replaces telemetry leads and/or batteries on patients as needed.
  • Able to document patient name date and time on computer for telemetry patients.
  • Performs weekly eyewash station checks every 7 days.
  • Checks patient refrigerator daily for dates on open containers and expired items.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Complies with local state and federal laws and regulations.
Requirements

Licenses and Education:

  • Must have an active valid CNA certificate in Maine.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Obtains BLS certification within 1 year of hire into this position and maintains current certification thereafter.
  • Completes CNA basic rhythms review.

Availability:

  • Depending on department staffing needs you may be asked to work nights weekends and holidays.
