A growing precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer / CMM Operator to join its Quality team on first shift. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional who enjoys programming inspection problem-solving and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong CMM programming experience an in-depth understanding of GD&T and experience inspecting complex close-tolerance machined components.
Responsibilities
Develop write validate and troubleshoot CMM inspection programs.
Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
Perform first article in-process and final inspections of precision machined components.
Prepare detailed inspection reports and quality documentation using Microsoft Excel and other software.
Interpret engineering drawings blueprints and GD&T requirements.
Perform inspections using hand gages plate inspection equipment comparators and other precision measuring instruments.
Design and build workholding fixtures for inspection when needed.
Troubleshoot measurement system issues and recommend process improvements.
Collaborate with engineering manufacturing and quality teams to support production goals.
Train manufacturing and quality personnel on CMM operation and inspection methods.
Maintain CMM equipment and ensure the inspection area remains organized and efficient.
Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Trade school or technical education preferred.
Minimum 3 years of GD&T experience required.
Previous CMM programming and operating experience required.
Experience with AS9100 Quality Management Systems preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Excel.
Experience with SolidWorks is preferred.
Strong blueprint reading skills.
Experience inspecting precision machined metal components.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
