Cloud System Engineer Level 2

The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Systems Engineer (Level 2) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud platform management deployment and monitoring with a focus on AWS and Azure. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud service models microservices architecture and scripting/automation. The Cloud Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure while ensuring security best practices and compliance requirements are met.

Responsibilities:
Manage deploy and monitor cloud platforms (AWS Azure) to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Design and implement microservices architecture within the cloud environment.
Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools using Python PowerShell or Bash to streamline cloud operations.
Ensure the security and compliance of cloud infrastructure by adhering to best practices and Responsible AI (RAI) policies.
Manage operating systems (Linux and Windows Server) within the cloud environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve cloud-related issues.
Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends including serverless technologies like AWS Lambda and AI cloud tools.
Provide guidance and support to junior team members on cloud-related projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Management Information Systems or a related STEM degree is desired.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in cloud platform management deployment and monitoring (AWS Azure).

Clearance: TS/SCI

Technical Skills:
Good understanding of cloud service models (IaaS PaaS SaaS) and cloud architecture.
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python PowerShell or Bash for automation.
Solid understanding of network concepts such as subnetting routing and firewalls.
Experience managing operating systems like Linux and Windows Server.
Awareness of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with cloud serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda and AI cloud tools and capabilities.
Knowledge of Responsible AI (RAI) policies.

Certifications:
Security
Cloud Practitioner
Azure Fundamentals
Microsoft Azure Administrator

Preferred Skills:
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI/CD).
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform CloudFormation).
