Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Performs intake assessment/evaluation of family dynamics and treatment needs including creation of treatment plan.

• Prepares case history of patients personal social and emotional development.

• Assists patients to evaluate both their strengths and symptoms and facilitate patients setting their own goals and plan for appropriate services.

• Provides therapeutic intervention with patient family including individual marital parental family and group therapies.

• Interprets nature of illness and prescribed course of treatment to patient and families.Communicates family issues to other staff members.

• Helps patients develop social skills interests and leisure time activities to provide a sense of participation and personal worth including opportunities for age appropriate culturally appropriate activities.

• Assists patients to identify appropriate employment opportunities and vocational rehabilitation services.Functions as Designated Examiner which involves the commitment process designated exam provide testimony for probate courts.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor manager director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Masters degree in Social Work or Counseling Psychology or related field of study.

• Experience - Two (2) years post-graduate behavioral health/counseling experience. Inpatient psychiatric hospital experience clinical assessments and case management experience preferred.
