Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner Preceptor serves as a clinical mentor and educator for graduate nursing students providing hands-on learning experiences in a real-world healthcare setting. Preceptors play a vital role in supporting the clinical education professional development and competency of future nurse practitioners while collaborating with faculty to ensure student success. Key Responsibilities * Provide supervised real-world clinical learning experiences for nurse practitioner students. * Offer guidance mentorship and clinical expertise to support students development of diagnostic reasoning assessment and patient management skills. * Facilitate progressive student independence by assigning appropriate patient care responsibilities based on competency. * Review and approve student findings diagnoses and treatment plans prior to patient discharge. * Communicate regularly with assigned faculty regarding student progress concerns or questions. * Complete required student evaluations at mid-term and end of the clinical rotation. * Maintain a supportive and professional learning environment that promotes compassionate high-quality patient care Clinical supervision ranging from approximately 60240 hours per semester depending on course requirement
