Clinical Pharmacist Retail Floater

Inova Retail and Specialty Pharmacy is seeking a dedicatedClinical Pharmacist Retail Floaterto join the team.This role will be full-time rotating schedule- day evening night weekend and overnight shifts.

This role will primarily be based at our Pharmacy Services Center in Chantilly Virginia with regular float coverage across four retail pharmacy locations in Fairfax Loudoun and Fair Oaks.

The position is part of our retail pharmacy hub and includes providing clinical consultations as well as supporting operational needs at the retail sites. Candidates must be available to work a rotating schedule that may include day evening night weekend and overnight shifts.

Clinical Pharmacist Job Responsibilities:

• Interprets prepares and verifies medication orders as appropriate.
• Provides clinical consultation and cost-effective alternatives.
• Issues controlled substances in compliance according to the DEA and VA Board of Pharmacy requirements.
• Participates in the medication formulary review and approval process.
• Monitors drug therapies for interactions allergies and appropriateness.
• Reports adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately.
• Minimizes non-formulary procurement and supports substitutions.
• Supervises pharmacy support staff.
• Participates in continuous quality improvement.
• May perform additional duties as assigned including but not limited to:

  • Participating in decentralized rounding with clinical teams.

  • Responding to emergent bedside alerts and codes (adult and pediatric as designated).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) orBachelor degree in Pharmacy.

• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of VA.

• Experience: PGY1 Residency.

• Certification:Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Critical Care and Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) year as a pharmacist.
