Job Description
Germanna Community College is a public open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a Germanna regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social economic political intellectual and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Full of history the area offers a community rich with diversity the arts technology vineyards hiking canoeing/kayaking and many other activities. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. We are seeking someone who is able to teach Clinical Nursing both in-person and online. Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment. Germanna Community College invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions in clinical nursing for the following areas: CNA LPN RN This position is located in Virginia. Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent reliable attendance. Duties and Tasks: Teach specific classes in the designated discipline. Develop course syllabi and instructional materials. Maintain records assign grades and assess student progress. Adhere to policies procedures and regulations of GCC and the VCCS . Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization. Essential Functions: As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction the College expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies procedures and regulations To apply for this position please submit online your complete application resume/CV cover letter and transcripts.
