Summary:
- Performs tests to analyze patient specimens according to section specific policy and procedure.
- Interprets data to prepare a patient laboratory report.
- Communicates test results to health care affiliates.
- Maintains biomedical equipment.
- Performs QC/QA to ensure quality test results.
- Identifies and resolves problems that arise.
- Assists Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS or MT) by testing samples to validate or correlate instruments assays and reagent lots .
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Skills Experience:
The Clinical Technologist - holds a Bachelors Degree and will receive on-the-job-training to attain Technologist level (formalized training program must be achieved to be eligible to apply to a Medical Technologist 1 position).
Required: Bachelors Degree of Science in Biology or Chemistry or a Bachelors Degree of Science with a minimum of 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses (6 hours of chemistry; 6 hours of biology and 12 hours in chemistry biology or medical laboratory technology or any combination).
