CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Clinical Instructor PediatricsEMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time REPORTS TO: Director of NursingDIVISION: Academic AffairsCAMPUS: College-WidePosition Start Date: Fall 2026 Semester The selected candidate will begin employment during the Fall 2026 Semester. Clinical rotations and site assignments will occur at scheduled times throughout the JOB CHARACTERISTICSAssist and work at the direction of a Nursing Faculty member. Employ a range of suitable strategies to foster student learning develop and maintain required records and promptly assess student performance. Responsibilities may include teaching nights and DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully an individual must perform essential duties to expected performance accommodations are made as required for persons who are disabled under the Americans With Disabilities of the assigned group(s) of students in the clinical and laboratory settings. This supervision shall include but is not limited to the following:Prepare appropriate plans materials and learning activities for students to achieve the learning outcomes of each educational students to the clinical unit/learning appropriate learning experiences for the assigned student group(s) i.e. client/patient assignments activities and planning clinical of the students performance guidance of the students performance review of procedures and principles as necessary on-the-spot instruction as of students performance in writing as required and verbally as needed on an individual basis including written feedback on but not limited to the following: Plans of care and other observations and/or any appropriate incidents which may occur during the learning with students individually and/or in groups to: review and/or evaluate progression towards learning outcomes and identify teaching strategies that could be reinforced or the established evaluation criteria for measuring student learning. Upon evaluating such performance for each instructional all required documentation of student progress by the date any student records appropriate to regular college procedure and assessment evaluation forms as designated to obtain evaluation feedback regarding a cooperative positive relationship with the staff on any unit of the healthcare facility assigned to facilitate the optimum learning environment for the effective on-going communication with the Lead Instructor (and/or Director of Nursing Programs if appropriate) concerning student progress and/or all meetings as and complete an orientation with the clinical site unit manager to learn the assigned clinical unit and meet the mandatory requirements of the clinical appropriate materials as required. Focuses energy to improve student in: Nursing practice oral and written communication interpersonal relationship management and project appropriate combination of education training course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge skills and example of an acceptable qualification is:Masters Degree in Nursing preferred or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing required;and a minimum of two-years nursing education experience desired. Two-years of clinical pediatric nursing experience required five or more must successfully pass required background checks in accordance with Southern State Community Colleges policies and procedures and applicable to document identity and employment eligibility as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTSValid and non-restricted registered nurse licensure in state of Ohio.
