A Brief Overview
Provides system-level support of multi-user clinical operating systems hardware and software tools including installation configuration maintenance training and support of these systems. Works in collaboration with operational leaders and team members from IT to assess current practice and translate end user needs into the optimal configuration and build of clinical applications. Ensures medication information systems and technologies work together cohesively to deliver a complete closed-loop medication management solutions all phases of the medication management processes. Actively participates in workflow design build implementation evaluation and support of end user education for the electronic health record mentoring other team members in these activities
What you will do
- Maintains detailed understanding and working knowledge of current clinical medication and/or administrative information systems associated workflows and integration with other systems within the organization. Works collaboratively with system users technical staff other IT groups and vendor support resources in problem solving issues related to clinical and medication information systems.
- Coordinates planning design development training implementation communication maintenance and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to clinical and medication information systems. Responsible for development and execution of a standardized methodology for testing major system functions before system changes/upgrades are moved to production environment.
- Researches plans installs configures troubleshoots maintains and upgrades operating systems and application software and hardware possessing a high level of knowledge regarding integration and support of assigned systems. Takes a lead role in the process of planning new systems/ processes or re-engineering working collaboratively across the organization and multiple departments to support clinical and/or administrative practice and ensure development evaluation and ongoing support for the EMR.
- Maintains membership on consultation to or may lead; appropriate committees workgroups or taskforces as needed to facilitate the ongoing process of the design implementation and revision of automated and manual components of clinical and medication information systems.
- Works with project managers and teams in implementations of new systems system upgrades and enhancement of current system functionality participating in any phase of large or small projects. Reviews collaborates and leads as appropriate on user requests for changes enhancements additions etc. to ensure feasibility quality and appropriateness for the system involved.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of support material related to system implementations and maintenance such as routine updates troubleshooting issue resolution and product enhancements.
- Facilitates reporting of information from source systems using the most appropriate tools.
- Oversees creations and maintenance of up-to-date training materials for the systems as appropriate or works with system educators to do so. Conducts or participates in training classes when appropriate.
- Develops and maintains a quality improvement program for clinical medication and/or administrative information systems proactively supporting efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services. Monitors reports and collaborates with various departments to identify areas for improvement and works with staff and physicians to optimize the usage of clinical and/or administrative systems through education and training quality outcome focus and provision of support in accordance with the organizations goals. Assists leadership team in capital and operational budget planning of IT software hardware and maintenance costs.
- Provides on call support to end users and the IT departments and serves as a resource to other team members in the areas of expertise.
Essential Qualifications

Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- Bachelors Pharmacy
- Pharmacist - Board of Pharmacy active in state of practice.
- 4-6 years related experience and/or training in a healthcare setting.
Preferred Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- Doctorate (PHD) Pharmacy
