Clinical Educator Nursing (RN) Critical Care

Inova Nursing Professional Development Departmentis looking for a RNClinical Educatorto work with our Critical Care and Progressive Care (PCU) team supporting RN team members.

This position will have systemwide oversite that includes working with Inova Alexandria Hospital Inova Fairfax Medical Campus Inova Fair Oaks Inova Mount Vernon and Inova Loudoun Hospital.

Clinical Educator Nursing Job Responsibilities:

• Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.
• Integrates theoretical knowledge evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.
• Prepares annual self-development plans sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.
• Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.

Hours:full-time M-F(regular office hours with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Masters Degree or BSN and enrolled in Masters program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Masters program RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
  1. Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date
  2. Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
  3. Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
• Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
• Certification:BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License

Preferred Qualifications:

• Critical Care experience (ICU)
