Clinical Coordinator, RN JS OR Full Time

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director/Manager of the Perioperative Unit theClinical Coordinator provides care of patients within the OR Department. This positionassumes clinical responsibility for the specialty by providing teaching clinical supervisionand evaluation of other personnel assigned to the area. This position is also responsible forduties outlined in the staff registered nurse job description: professional nursing care andrelated assistance to patients providing direction to licensed vocational nurses and non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Two years recent clinical experience preferably on the unit whichthe Registered Nurse takes Clinical Coordinator responsibilities.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Current licensure in Texas as Registered Nurse. Certified throughthe American Heart Association BLS. ACLS PALS or ENPCrequired within 6 months of hire. Registered Nurse certification inat least one specialty required. Example: CNOR SGNA orASPAN. Valid Drivers license and reliable transportationnecessary as travel between campuses may be required.

REQUIRED SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated proficiency in at least 5 surgical specialties orPACU or Endoscopy preferred. Prior Clinical Coordinatorexperience preferred.
