Job Summary
The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Memphis ( is one of the leading academic and clinical programs in the country. This12-month non-tenure trackposition is ideal for a strong innovative clinician whose focus area is primarily adults and who will provide clinical education in an academic setting. The clinical program offers the full scope of audiology services to our patients including diagnostic assessments across the lifespan hearing aid services cochlear implant services bone conduction device services electrophysiology assessments vestibular assessments auditory rehabilitation and auditory processing disorder testing and treatment.
Applicants are expected to collaborate on research and service with clinical and academic faculty. This candidate is expected to be involved in the maintenance and growth of the audiology program. Applicants with experience in adult hearing evaluations and adult hearing aid services are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience with cochlear implant services is preferred though not required. This position requires anAuD or applicant must haveASHAcertification (CCC-A) and be eligible for TN state licensure.

Our dynamic team of licensed clinicians and graduate trainees serves thousands of patients annually providing comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for speech language cognitive and hearing and balance disorders across all age groups. The Center is located at 4055 North Park Loop on the Park Avenue campus of the University of Memphis. It features state-of-the-art research laboratories alongside our clinical facilities establishing MSHC as one of the premier speech and hearing facilities in the nation.

Responsibilities
Applicants with experience in adult hearing evaluations and adult hearing aid services are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience with cochlear implant services is preferred though not required.
Primarily responsibile to provide clinical instruction to graduate students provide clinical service in the Memphis Speech and Hearing Center the learning laboratory of the School of CSD and provide service to the School and professions. Generally are not expected to conduct research however research activities may be included as part of the effort. Preparing students for the complexities and realities of the current professional environment; Staying current in their field of practice to ensure course/clinical practice content is consistent with the current professional practice; Organizing and supervising students in professional programs. This position is not eligible for tenure.
Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements:
AuD or PhD in audiology
Tennessee state licensure in audiology or eligibility
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
At least 2 years of postgraduate experience
Completed at least .2 ASHA continuing education units (CEUs) (2 hours) in clinical education and .1 CEU (1 hour) in ethics obtained within the past credentialing period. If this is not available SCSD will assist with an independent study for ASHA CE credit
Evidence of potential ability in teaching service to the institution service to the profession and contribution to student development and success. Professional comportment consistent with the Faculty Code of Conduct.
