Job Description:
Perform a variety of clerical duties to prepare and maintain surgery patient schedules within an assigned cluster for elective urgent and emergent surgery postings for clinic patients and physicians.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must have 2 years of surgical scheduling experience and at least 12 mos. experience must be as a surgery scheduler in a surgeons office. (This includes intake independent decision making etc.).
2. Must have 12 mos. experience with data entry and verification appointment scheduling documentation and be proficient with medical procedure abstracting.
3. Must have experience using the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) system.
4. Must have current within the last 2-4 years insurance experience either working in a position such as this or with a medical billing office insurance company or like position.
5. Must have knowledge of payor regulatory requirements for pre-authorization/pre-certification.
6. Must have experience with insurance referrals.
7. Must be proficient in medical transcription.
