We fulfill our mission by combining consumer-facing programs with public policy advocacy at the state and local levels in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We havetwentyemployees in offices inCambridgeand Providence.We work in multiple clean energy sectors: renewable energy heating transportation energy efficiency grid modernization and more.We have a variety of funding sources grants commissions contracts donations but our dominant source of revenue isearnedincome through our green electricity program.

Overview

We are searching for aClean Transportation ProgramCoordinator orManagertoserve as the Co-Director of the Ocean State Clean Cities & Communities Coalition and support Green EnergyConsumersother clean transportation work particularly its Drive Green program.This position will report to our Electric Vehicle Program Director who will also serve as Co-Director of Ocean State CC&C.

Clean Cities and Communities (CC&C) is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) partnership to advance alternative transportation nationwide. More than 75 DOE-designated CC&C coalitions work locally in urban suburban and rural communities to strengthen the nations environment energy security and economic prosperity. Green Energy Consumers serves as the host organization of the Rhode Island coalition Ocean State CC&C.

Green Energy Consumers alsoruns ageneralelectricvehicle (EV) consumer education programDrive Green as well as several targetedprojects to increase awareness about EVs their benefits and available incentives and to increase access to EV charging infrastructure.

The successful candidate willresidein Rhode Island and be familiar with its communities;have subject matterexpertisein the realm of alternative fuels particularly electric vehicles;and havedemonstratedexperience managing stakeholder relationships and project/granttimelinesand deliverables. We are looking for someone with at least a bachelors degree and at least 3 to 5 years experience. The organization actively supports continued learning and needed training will be provided.

Please note:

1. This position is funded with federal funding. Its continued existence is contingent on the continuation of the CC&C partnershipor potentially new funding sources.

1. The final title of this position (Coordinator vs Manager) will bedeterminedbased on the experience and qualifications of the chosen candidate.
   

Responsibilities

• Stay up-to-date and informed on EVand other alternative fuel technologymanufacturers models charging equipment charging network build-out incentives etc.;

• Contribute to the creation and delivery of in-person events (in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts) webinars blogposts newsletters and emails;

• Buildmaintain and strengthen relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island including community-based organizations municipalities regional planning agencies technology providers fuel providers service providers utilities state agencies;

• RegardingOcean State Clean Cities & Communities specifically

• • In collaboration with Electric Vehicle Program Director develop a coalition strategic planand quarterly work plans;

• • Ensure the coalition meets Active and Effective Requirements tomaintainDOE designation;

• • Ensure performance andtimelyreporting of deliverables to DOE and other funders;

• • Provide day-to-day management of internal administration and external programs/activities.

• • Reengage past stakeholders and expand list of active stakeholders collaborating closely with them and supporting them as needed including by providing technicalassistance(or connecting stakeholders with technicalassistancepartners) and helping stakeholders access funding opportunities and deploy clean technology;

• • Represent the coalition at external eventsand with the DOE;

• • Develop coalition communicationsand plan and host events in collaboration with Green Energy Consumers marketing team.

• Supervise an intern and/or staff toassistwith program implementation asappropriate.
  

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have abachelors degreeand at least 3 to 5years of relevant experience. Candidates should also be able todemonstrate:

• Passion for decarbonization in the transportation sector and subject matterexpertisein the realm of alternative fuels particularly electric vehicles;

• Experience managing granttimelines anddeadlinesdeliverablesbudgets and reporting;

• Experience building and managing stakeholder relationships;

• Experience with community outreach and education;

• Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience presenting to large and diverse audiences;

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;

• Ability to learn quickly;

• Ability to travel to and attend events in Rhode Island and Massachusetts including occasional evenings and weekends (mileage reimbursed);

• A team-orientedattitude; willingness to support a small team by being flexible and adaptable;

• Familiarity with Microsoft Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint and Google Suite (Gmail Groups Drive etc.);

• Present residence in Rhode Island and knowledge of its communities;

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination including a booster shot.
  

Preferred qualifications include:

• Connections with key stakeholders in Rhode Island such as state energy and transportationagencies;municipalities;regional planningagencies;communityorganizations;or alternative fueltechnologyand service providers.

• Fluency in a language spoken by large immigrant populations in Rhode Island particularly Spanish or Portuguese.

• Supervision experience.

• Owning or leasing an electric vehicle would be a plus.

Compensation

USD$64350to $83850/ yearbased upon an hourly wageof $33-$43and37.5 hoursper week.

Hourlywagewill becommensuratewith qualificationsexperiencefinal job descriptionandtitle.

Hours

This is a full-time position37.5 hoursper week between 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Fridaywith occasional work on nights and weekends for events. Schedules can be flexible. Our offices are inCambridgeand Providence. TheClean Transportation ProgramCoordinator orManagerwillwork out ofthe Providenceoffice andremotely at home in a hybrid situation.
