  • Coordinates all Civil Service Commission meeting requests and presentations with Sheriff and administrative staff law enforcement and corrections associations. Researches agenda items.
  • Oversees the Sheriffs Office employee grievance process. Investigates employee grievances and helps resolve conflicts. Coordinates grievance hearings with Civil Service Commissioners County Attorneys Office all involved parties with their attorneys.
  • Reviews and ensures that policies and procedures within the Commission are consistent with state and federal policies laws and regulations and recommends changes as necessary.
  • Coordinates with vendors and the Sheriffs Office to plan develop and implement the written and verbal promotional testing process.
  • Responsible for administrative duties for the Civil Service Commission. Maintains and organizes information related to activities and meetings.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Public Administration or directly related field.
  • 3 years job related experience.
  • Strong computer and typing skills with a working knowledge of spreadsheets word processing and databases.
  • Management and supervisory experience with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with others.
  • Capability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadlines and prioritize own/others work.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $25.71 - $32.14 hourly based on qualifications
