We are seeking an experienced Civil Rights Litigation Attorney to join a dynamic litigation practice handling complex and high-exposure civil rights matters. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience litigating Section 1983 claims strong courtroom advocacy skills and a proven record of managing cases through trial.

This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated civil rights defense matters develop litigation strategies and represent clients throughout all phases of litigation.

• Manage civil rights litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
• Handle complex Section 1983 claims and related constitutional law matters.
• Conduct case evaluations and develop litigation strategies.
• Draft pleadings motions discovery requests responses and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Prepare and argue motions including dispositive motions and motions in limine.
• Represent clients at hearings mediations arbitrations and trials.
• Coordinate with experts investigators and other litigation support professionals.
• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes regulations constitutional issues and case law.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide strategic recommendations.
• Manage case files deadlines and litigation budgets.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

• Minimum 10 years of civil rights litigation experience.
• Extensive experience handling Section 1983 litigation matters.
• Demonstrated first-chair trial experience.
• Proven ability to independently manage complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state court procedures.

This is a hybrid position offering flexibility for remote work. Attorneys are expected to attend in person for:

• Client meetings
• Depositions
• Team meetings
• Court appearances and other required proceedings

Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Fullerton office.

• Annual billable requirement: 1800 hours

Attorneys who meet the annual billable-hour requirement are eligible for a performance bonus.

• Must achieve the annual goal of 1800 billable hours.
• Earn $50 per hour for each credited hour worked above the annual goal.
• Bonus is calculated using credited time including qualifying billable and approved administrative time.
• Bonus eligibility is capped at 250 hours above goal.
